Born and raised in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, Sienna Reid is a multimedia artist working in painting, drawing, filmmaking, photography and ceramics among other experimental processes. A graduate of the University of Washington with a BFA in painting, since the age of nineteen Reid has exhibited her work extensively in the USA and Italy. Her art is held in private collections throughout Europe and the USA. Reid lived in Italy from 1999 until 2014 when she transferred to NYC. In 2017 she moved to Hudson, where she currently works in her studio renovated from a small barn. From 2007-2017, Reid has worked on a large multimedia project examining the media circus around the Amanda Knox trial in Italy, and the etymology and semantics of the words that were used to assassinate her character by the police, prosecution, lawyers, media and ultimately the anonymous online masses. Her work incorporates current and historic research on scapegoating/shaming, abuse of power, feminist/women's issues, identity issues, wrongful conviction, portraiture, and the use of words to harm the individual.
